Also our director Stv. Dr. Daniel Abed-Navandi used the opportunity to re-structure and enlarge the Mediterranean Branch that falls under his responsibilities. After all the new basins had been put into operation (among which the "jelly fish carousel" that shows "migrants" to the Mediterranean), we invited Mrs. Smoky Riedl and her whole family to a big opening ceremony. This festivity was dedicated to the memory of her husband, the great scientist, teacher and philosopher Rupert Riedl. Univ.Prof. Jörg Ott praised his former teacher; Manfred Christ gave us an overview of Rupert Riedl’s various activities who has been one of us and the memory of whom we honor.
