The Elevator

In 1997 a new record was achieved with 170,000 visitors. New attractions were created. The tropical seawater department was modified; in the old shark tank a „living coral reef“ was built with a volume of 13,000 litres and on the ground floor the Koi tank. On the 1/4/1998 the old lift, that hadn’t worked since the war, was removed and replaced with a new one that leads up to the terrace on the 9th floor. Back then however the terrace was not open for the public due to us having to give up the tenancy rights.

The elevator now allowed disabled people to freely move around in our house. A Senior citizen offer, as well as other activities for elderly people was put into place with great success.
