Hammer Head Sharks
The preparation took almost a year. The sharks, breed in captivity, were prepared for transport to Vienna from Florida in the best way possible and the adaptations to the shark tank on the first floor were made.
Hammerhead sharks have a hard time dealing with „corners“ in aquariums and thus Deputy Director Abed-Navandi adapted the tank accordingly.
After their arrival the young sharks wouldn’t eat and were thus placed into a „children’s“ swimming pool, which floated in the aquarium and was filled with water from the tank.
Only after 6 months could we final put the Hammerheads into their new home.
A sensation found only once in the whole of Europe.
