Vienna Card

The years 2002 and 2003 were dedicated to reconstructing and extending the floors 5 to 8. A new area for food storage and preparation, a new water preparation system, development of the quarantine station, a workshop and a storage area and most importantly a recreation room for the employees. A large amount of work was completed without the visitors even noticing it. The quality of the employees also increased, two Zoologists from Vienna University became part of the team and two long-term employees graduated as zookeepers. Finally in 2002 the Vienna card was introduced (an initiative of the Vienna Tourism board) giving every owner of the card one of our catalogues for free.
