A series of collecting trips were organized, new aquariums were glued together (using old streetcar windows), fresh concrete was poured, pipes and cables installed, and many more tasks completed to provide the perfect home for the animals under our care. As of that time, I have assumed various official functions for the society, concentrating on administrative duties and public relations work. Many bureaucratic problems had to be resolved and our image needed to be polished. One step was to change the name from "Society for Marine Biology" to "Haus des Meeres-Vivarium Wien" in order to more accurately reflect the new, realistic aims of the society.
