Certification

Exactly one year after the 9/11 terror attacks in the USA and the inauguration of our Mediterranean division, we were proud to announce to the general public that we were the first zoo to be certified in Europe, both with respect to the ISO 9001:2000 norm as well as to OHSAS 19002:1999. Above all, the "Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series" certificate, which regulates safety issues within the business, was a matter of great import to us. Curator Werner Binder, who now also serves as our quality and safety officer, has done a great job in cooperation with the Schier, Otten & Co consultant Willibald Stuppan and the entire Haus des Meeres Team. Dipl. Ing. Schütz of the TÜV specifically acknowledged this when he presented the certificate. As the initiator of the certification process, I was privileged to express my heartfelt thanks to all those involved.
